Mytharais ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Mytharais text-based MMORPG mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Game and related services. By using the Game, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account Data: Email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash). We do not store payment card details; purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store).

• Gameplay Data: Character progress, level, stats, inventory, combat logs, quest progress, and other in-game activities necessary to operate the Game and provide your personalized experience.

• Device Information: Operating system, device model, unique device identifiers, app version, and language settings to ensure compatibility and troubleshoot issues.

• Usage Analytics: Session duration, feature usage, and general engagement metrics to improve the Game. Analytics are aggregated and anonymized where possible.

• Payment Data: We receive confirmation of purchases (e.g., product ID, purchase date) from Apple and Google to grant in-game items. We do not receive or store your payment card number or full payment method details.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Game service
• Enable matchmaking, leaderboards, and social features
• Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse
• Respond to customer support inquiries
• Send account-related notifications (e.g., password resets, security alerts)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve gameplay, features, and performance
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

4. INFORMATION SHARING

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Payment Processors: Apple and Google process in-app purchases. Their respective privacy policies govern payment data handling.

• Analytics Providers: We may use analytics services that process anonymized or aggregated data to help us understand how the Game is used.

• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

5. DATA RETENTION

• Active Accounts: We retain your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.

• Inactive Accounts: If you do not log in for two (2) years, we may delete your account and associated data.

• Combat Logs: Retained for approximately 90 days for gameplay and support purposes.

• Chat Messages: Retained for approximately 30 days. Some messages may be retained longer if required for moderation, legal, or support purposes.

6. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Opt-Out of Analytics: Disable analytics through your device or in-app settings where available.
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. For users between 13 and 16 in the EU/EEA, we may require verifiable parental consent before processing personal data. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us at privacy@mytharais.io.

8. SECURITY

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest where applicable
• Secure password hashing (we never store plaintext passwords)
• Regular security assessments and updates
• Access controls limiting employee access to personal data

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.

9. COOKIES & LOCAL STORAGE

The Game uses local storage and similar technologies to:

• Store session tokens for authentication
• Save preferences (e.g., sound settings, display options)
• Enable offline functionality where supported

We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Analytics data is collected in a manner that minimizes identification of individual users.

10. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Your information may be processed in countries outside your residence, including where data protection laws may differ. When we transfer data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) to protect your information in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with at least thirty (30) days notice where practicable, including in-game notifications and/or email. Your continued use of the Game after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
